On the Wine Trail: The Wine Path Kurtatsch/Cortaccia – Margreid/Magrè – Kurtinig/Cortina Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of wine and follow the journey of the grape – from the young vine, the "rasel," to the final glass of wine. The Wine Path takes you on an 8-kilometer trail through the picturesque vineyards of Südtirols Süden, full of discoveries and breathtaking views. Your journey begins in the center of Kurtatsch, where the "Saltner Hand," a wooden sculpture, marks the entrance to the path. Here, a large sculpture of a grape cluster made from glacier-smoothed stones welcomes you – a symbol of the unique bond between humans and nature.
The trail winds through vineyards to Entiklar, where you can discover nearly all the grape varieties grown in the area and various cultivation methods, including the traditional South Tyrolean pergola and the more widely used trellis systems. Informative panels and terracotta amphorae invite you to explore the characteristic aromas of different wines – a sensory experience that’s as fun as it is fascinating.
From Entiklar, the path continues to Margreid, one of the region's most charming wine villages. Here, you’ll learn about winemaking – from traditional methods to modern fermentation techniques. On the way to Kurtinig, passing by serene biotopes, informational panels offer insights into the nature and landscapes of the beautiful region.
