In the olden days, every farm had its pear tree. After the fruit had been picked some of the fresh pears were stored in the attic of the stable. The special climate on Renon dried the fruit so they could be preserved and enjoyed at a later date. The dried pears were called Kloatze®. For some years now the Rittner Kloatze® has again been picked and dried and processed to delicious treats.

Törggelen is pleasure and culture in one! On offer are Siaßen (sweet freshly pressed juice) and Nuin (new wine), rustic farm dishes, Krapfen deep fried pastry parcels and roasted chestnuts. There is a long-standing Törggelen tradition on Renon: Once upon a time the wine-growers used to invite all helpers and mountain farmers who grazed their animals during the summer to a feast. The feast usually took place in the cellar where the Torggl, the wine press, stood.

Thanks to the centuries old tradition as a holiday destination and its experience of tourism, Renon offers a shopping experience in shops selling typical products. A shopping tour under the arcades in Bolzano is also highly recommended.
