A Journey into Prehistoric Times

The Bletterbach Dinosaur Trail in Aldein is an exciting themed path that takes you on a journey back to the time of the dinosaurs. Along the 1-kilometer circular route, which starts directly at the Visitor Center of the GEOPARC Bletterbach, you'll discover fascinating insights into the geological history of the region and the traces left by prehistoric creatures.

Along the way, nine interactive stations bring to life the world as it was 260 million years ago. You’ll learn about impressive dinosaurs, prehistoric plants like ferns and horsetails, and fossilized footprints embedded in the Bletterbach rock formations. The trail also explores past volcanic eruptions and their impact on the landscape.

The easily accessible path runs flat through the forest above the spectacular Bletterbach Gorge, making it ideal for families with children. It offers a fascinating alternative for those who want to explore the geological wonders of the region without descending into the gorge itself.

After your hike, the nearby Lahner Mountain Hut is the perfect place for a well-deserved break. Enjoy delicious local specialties while children have fun on the playground.
