Nowhere else in South Tyrol you find as many spring flowers between the end of February and the beginning of March, as in the basin between Lago di Monticolo and Lago di Caldaro. Along the Angelbach stream a flowering carpet spreads over the slopes and delights hikers with a sea of flowers of thousands of spring snowflakes, violets, hepatica, primroses and lungwort. Note: Picking flowers is prohibited!

Hikes through the spring valley are easy and highly suitable for families with children. Hikers can reach the valley from the South but also from the North via Monticolo. If you have time, you can include two or three lakes in your route. Biking is not permitted in the protected biotope.
