Lago di Caldaro is the warmest swimming lake in the Alps. Surrounded by vineyards and watched over by Castelchiaro it tempts visitors to dive in for a swim from April to October. In spring and autumn temperatures reach 20°C, in the height of summer temperatures of up to 28°C make the hearts of water babies beat faster. Those who prefer swimming pools enjoy the Lido.

Lago di Caldaro biotope
The reed belt on the southern shore of Lago di Caldaro is a biotope and a nesting site for over 100 different and rare birds and bog dwellers. The region is the only larger habitat of its kind between Passo Resia and Verona and is located at the intersection of the most important flight paths of migrating birds. The best place for bird spotting is an observation tower and there is a nature discovery trail threading through the biotope.

Spring valley
Spring valley
The spring valley is located on Monte di Mezzo between Lago di Caldaro and Laghi di Monticolo. In early spring anemone hepatica and spring snowflakes flourish here when warm air flows into the valley from the South while other regions are still covered in snow. The geographical name is Val di Fabiòn, but the term spring valley is more commonly used.
