Bolzano is a green city: the Prati del Talvera and the historic promenades invite to slowing down and relaxation. The promenades were created at the end of the 19th century on a small hill near the city centre. A stroll along the promenade makes you feel as if you were in the Mediterranean and offers fascinating panoramic views of the city.

From the town to lofty heights in a flash. Two cable cars take you from Bolzano in less than 10 minutes from 300 m to 1000 m. This is pure enjoyment of nature. At the top the fresh mountain air, the panorama and the extensive meadows fascinate visitors. Get on board!

Strolling through the city, walking along the promenades, hiking on hills or gliding up the mountain in cable cars and exploring alpine pastures: the choice is yours! Put on your walking shoes and discover the holiday region Bolzano and environs on foot!

From Bolzano you can discover the whole of South Tyrol by bicycle. The ancient Roman road Via Claudia Augusta takes you to Merano and on to Val Venosta. Route 99 runs through the three medieval cities of Chiusa, Bressanone and Vipiteno. Towards the South the Adige cycle path takes you to Lake Garda. Get on your bike and explore the region!

Bolzano is a runner’s paradise. The town has 12 jogging routes with a total of over 100 km sign posted with the name of BoRunning. All of them start on Prati del Talvera in the centre of the town and lead to interesting places.
